As a Corporate Tax Manager based in Antwerp, you will play a crucial role in our tax consulting team. Beyond managing complex tax files, you will also actively contribute to the strategic growth and development of our department through business development initiatives.
What will you be doing?
After an induction and training period, you will become the advisory fiduciary to the business manager and finance management regarding fiscal aspects of their policies. In addition, you will be given the following responsibilities:
1. You will be responsible for the independent handling of important files. As a generalist, you can call on specialists in sub-domains of taxation within the organisation. You also work closely with company auditors and accountants for most files.
2. You organise and plan the work of your employees and assist them in managing and reviewing their files.
3. You report directly to the Tax Partners and are responsible, together with colleagues and employees, for the further development of the department and for the further development and optimisation of existing client relationships.
4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across different practices (e.g., audit, advisory) to leverage cross-selling opportunities.
5. Build and maintain a strong network of professional contacts within the industry and local business community.
6. Represent BDO at industry events, conferences, and seminars to enhance the firm's visibility and reputation.
What do you bring to the table?
1. Diploma of Higher Education, preferably a Master of Law or Economics with additional tax training;
2. At least five years of relevant experience with domestic or international corporate tax at a large organisation, including both (complex) advisory and compliance activities. Ability to make connections to other types of taxation such as VAT or personal income tax;
3. Certified Tax Adviser status;
4. Commercial acumen and ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities;
5. Excellent proficiency in written and spoken Dutch and English; knowledge of French is an asset;
6. Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken;
7. Strong, dynamic personality, with a drive and commitment to help expand our location over the long term;
8. Commercial awareness, quality-oriented;
9. Proactive, enjoy taking initiative and responsibility;
10. Team player with leadership skills.
