Head of Clean Utilities & SustainabilityLocation: GeelAbout the jobThe Head Clean Utilities and Sustainability is accountable for the operation of Clean Utilities, E&I and the Sustainability Programs for Geel. The incumbent ensures the safe and compliant operation of the relevant unit operations and the execution of associated maintenance activities (corrective, preventive, and predictive/monitoring) to ensure robust performance and achieves the highest uptime.Main responsibilities:Key member of the Geel Engineering and Maintenance Leadership Team. Collaborates with peers to deliver Geel Site and Engineering and Maintenance Vision, CBNs and KPIs.As a leader, ability to influence, engage and partner with a spectrum of roles within the organization including E&M peer functions, Quality, HSE, Production and Supporting Functions.Ensure safe, reliable, efficient performance of the critical water systems (including pre-treatment, RO, PW, WFI) and clean steam. Ensure utilities adhere to quality criteria, are monitored and are available for use by operations.Ensure continuous delivery of clean steam, electricity and water to the site.Ensure the operation and maintenance is conducted safely and compliantly as per GMP regulations, and efficiently.Ensure timely execution of Maintenance Programs (corrective, preventative) and leverage Predictive technologies to optimize work. Review performance and strive for full uptime.Responsible for plant shut down management.Vigilance on usage and variable cost of utilities (gas, electricity, water) ensuring conservation and that site budgets are adhered to.Champions Geel’s cross-functional sustainability program to deliver Sanofi’s Planet Care targets for CO2, Energy, Water, Waste & Biodiversity.Develop a Continuous Improvement and Proactive Team-based culture, ensuring incremental improvement through RCA methodology across safety, compliance, cost and performance pillars. Drive efficiencies through continuous process improvement initiatives.Accountable for compliance readiness, deviation performance, technical SME discussions and hot topics within a highly regulated environment.Partner with global and site partners to mitigate risk and ensure the LTAP reflects life cycle replacements and associated funding is allocated in the site capex plan.A safety advocate. Responds promptly to all health and safety concerns or incidents and completes the appropriate documentation in a timely manner. Takes every reasonable precaution to ensure the health and safety of staff.About youEducation/Certifications:Engineering degree or equivalentExperience:10+ years, direct experience in pharma/biotech manufacturing and quality environments/organizations5+ years demonstrated leadership in behavioral competencies.Strong people management skills and demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teamsUnderstand SMS tools and help drive and implement new ways of workingFundamental understanding of industrial production environment and maintenance & engineering practicesRequire high level of critical thinking and prioritization.Experience in audit preparation and participation in internal and external audits.
