Responsibility
We seek a dedicated Safety Promotor professional to assist the Hub Manager in maintaining a safe work environment and promoting a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with policies and best practices.
* Promote a Culture of Safety & Wellbeing
* Lead by example in fostering safety, health, and wellbeing awareness. Encourage participation in training and actively drive safety improvement initiatives.
* Ensure Compliance & Best Practices
* Understand and implement VLG safety policies while coaching others. Support Safety Kaizen, share best practices across hubs, and conduct audits to ensure compliance.
* Support Safety Planning & Initiatives
* Assist in developing and executing annual safety plans, including key initiatives like October Safety Month, Safety Walks, and January Safety Succession Month. Provide feedback to VLG headquarters on safety activities.
* Operational & Leadership Support
* Act as a deputy for the Hub Manager in safety-related meetings. Collaborate with logistics teams to enhance workplace safety and conduct audits to ensure third-party compliance.
Competencies
* Fluent in English, any other language is an asset.
* Lead by example: ability to lead and influence others to promote a safety-first culture.
* Strong communication skills to train, coach and provide feedback.
* Willing to travel to Valenciennes, once or twice a year.
* Experience with safety audits, training programs and risk assessments is a plus.
