Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about the work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Guyana?
We offer: A traineeship of 6 months within the Cooperation Section of the EU Delegation to Guyana, starting in October 2024.
The cooperation section is responsible for the unfolding of the EU Global Gateway Investment Agenda and for the coordination and management of projects in the countries and territories under the remit of the delegation. In addition to the bilateral envelopes, the section is also the entry point of different regional and continental initiatives. This includes relations with government, international partners, and civil society organisations. The focal sectors for Guyana are Forest and Health/Pharma.
Main tasks:
* Assist the Head of Cooperation and team colleagues over the cycle management of projects
* Support the organization of events
* Assist in drafting speeches and press releases
* Assist in the possibility of rolling out a Youth Network
* Research on topical issues as necessitated (topics will be selected, for exle forest, health/pharma, civil society, etc.)
* Assist with preparing the event calendar for Ambassador and/or Head of Section and database
* Assist with the management of the Delegation''s social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) in coordination with Political, Press and Information Section
We look for: Qualifications or special requirements:
* University degree in economics, political science, social science, engineering, development studies, international relations or similar.
* English is the working language at the Delegation; knowledge of Spanish, French, or Dutch will be an asset.
* Taking into account the local health and security conditions, applicants currently residing in Guyana (Guyanese nationality or citizens from the EU Member States) will only be considered.
