Responsibilities
1. Administering the packages of Instrumentation engineering group
2. Applying technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce a range of instrumentation engineering deliverables (including more complex tasks) with limited guidance and direction from more senior technical professionals
3. Developing a range of instrumentation engineering deliverables, including specifications, calculations, reports, technical requisitions, material requisitions and others
4. Ensuring that instrumentation Engineering activities are executed according to Wood & client project procedures, specifications and standards, good engineering practices and techniques, and any project-specific requirements
5. Supervising the day-to-day (if any) engineering interfaces between PMC core engineering group, Project Management team and the engineering teams assigned to the EPC package – includes interaction with all other specialist disciplines as required
6. Participating in design reviews and engineering changes with customer and EPC contractor as necessitated by design development and ensuring core team are made aware of these
7. Participating in key customer reviews and meetings as required
8. Participating in project reviews, value engineering and value improvement workshops with customer / contractor
9. Participating in GEC (Global Execution Center) meetings and reviews
10. Contributing to the development of engineering procedures and work practices in conjunction with the Core Electrical Lead, as appropriate.
11. Estimating electrical discipline man-hours and schedule requirements for the production of deliverables, coordinating your own work schedule, and preparing progress reports.
12. Reviewing vendor documentation
13. Conducting Site Surveys and preparing site survey reports
Requirements
14. Degree in relevant discipline
15. Minimum of years’ experience in major oil / gas refinery / petrochemical projects in the capacity of senior electrical engineer with engineering contractor / PMC organization
16. Fully familiar with international codes, standards and recommended practices to be adopted during EPC phases of oil / gas projects
17. Must have the capacity to supervise and manage EPC Contractors and development of detail design deliverables
18. Must have proven ability to contribute during development of instrumentation system studies
19. Fluent English is a must, knowledge of French and Dutch is a plus
20. Experienced in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation
