JOB SCOPE:
As Business Development Director, you are responsible for the strategic partnerships in your portfolio of equipment and material companies. This is a highly visible and impactful role with strong impact on the long-term strategy.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy:
* Build and manage the long term strategy for a portfolio of equipment and material partners in close collaboration with the technical units.
* Develop the business plan for a product portfolio with the technical units and take responsibility for business implementation.
* Define the go-to-market strategy, business model, pricing and IP strategy for product lines and prepares the value proposition.
* Translate market feedback and market trends in developing new strategic opportunities.
* Coordinate the cross functional business team.
Account management:
* Accountable for building partnerships and revenue growth at key accounts.
* Manage several key accounts and defines the account strategy, relationships and investment plans.
* Negotiate and close business deals at senior or executive level (typical >10MEuro deal size).
* Coordinate contract closures in collaboration with legal, IP and business operations.
* Report out on account status, customer satisfaction and business opportunities. Trusted partner for (internal and external) senior management stakeholders, and escalation path in case of issues.
Business management:
* Grow revenues and profitability for larger companies in Equipment and material suppliers team’s portfolio to meet targets.
* Report out on financial results and ownership of improvements plans.
* Financial planning and forecasting.
* Leading improvement projects for operational systems and processes.
* Provides guidance to team members (BD managers) and have impact on their sales negotiations by coaching them through effective business management best practices.
Function requirements
* Track record in business development, product management or product marketing with more than 10 years of experience in the semiconductor ecosystem, ideally at equipment or material manufacturers.
* Experience with financial analyses and Business plan definition
* Demonstrated experience with long-term stakeholder management.
* Proactive and confident personality and an enthusiastic team player, able to inspire
* Strategic vision and provide input in strategic proposals.
* Strong communication and relation building skills to grow partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
* Fluent in English; other languages are an asset.
* Enjoy business travel to attend customer meetings and technical conferences: 10%~20%.
* Demonstrated capability of handling the administrative part of the business development.
* You are able to be present onsite in Leuven 3-4 days per week.
* Reside in or willing to relocate to Belgium
