We#39;re working with a leading company specializing in solution integration, with a strong presence in the global supply chain and identity management sectors, who are looking for a Support Engineer to join their global and growing team in Brussels. The company delivers software solutions worldwide, providing critical support in areas like border control, secure data protection, and biometric registration.
As a Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software and hardware systems across global operations. You will play a key role in troubleshooting, system administration, and ensuring the security and efficiency of the company#39;s infrastructure.
Responsibilities
System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and software; manage system performance and capacity planning for high availability.
Support Troubleshooting: Provide third-line support, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and networking issues. Act as the liaison between clients and internal teams.
Security Compliance: Implement security best practices, conduct security audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Documentation Reporting: Maintain system documentation, generate performance reports, and support capacity planning.
Collaboration Training: Work with IT, development, and sales teams; assist in technical demonstrations, provide occasional training, and mentor junior staff.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor#39;s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 3-5 years in a similar role (Linux System Administrator, Support Engineer).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Linux (Red Hat preferred), virtualization (VMware, Proxmox), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with shell scripting, Ansible, networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and monitoring tools (Zabbix, ELK).
Knowledge of security practices (certificates, PKI) and databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
Languages: English and French required; Dutch is a plus.
Additional: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to travel (mainly Europe and Africa), and a passion for working in a fast-paced environment.
