The Network and Telecom Engineer handles all network and telecom incidents. He is also responsible for implementing standard changes (MAC: Move, Add, Change) under the supervision of the Senior Network Engineer. The Network Engineer will proactively monitor the corporate network and telecom infrastructure. Occasionally, the Network Engineer will also implement and manage small projects.
Initially, all calls/incidents are taken by the Service Desk; in case they are network-related, the calls/incidents are passed on to the network and telecom team. The management and follow-up of incidents is done via the ServiceNow application. The Network and Telecom Engineer will manage the incident queue and document all incident activities in the application. The Network and Telecom Engineer will manage the incidents according to the defined priority and SLA timers. Management of the alerts generated by the monitor and management applications of the Network and Telecom team (SNMP monitoring). In case an alert has a business impact, an incident is created and the incident management procedure is followed. Management of the shared mailbox of the network and telecom team is also required, used for all operational communications with the different teams and suppliers.
Configuration Management
Maintain infrastructure device configurations, execute backup and restore policies under the supervision of the Senior Network Engineer. Maintain the Configuration Management Database in ServiceNow. Maintain specific network and telecom configuration management applications and databases.
Service Level Management (SLM), Ticketing, Follow-up and Escalation to Suppliers
Dispatch problems to the appropriate internal or external resources, suppliers, and underpinning contractors. Escalate incidents internally when the SLA timer of the supplier is reached.
Change Management
Implement and follow-up basic and procedure-supported changes on network and telecom infrastructures. All change activities will be documented by the Network Engineer in ServiceNow. Financial aspects of the changes will be documented in SAP. Documentation and creation of procedures for recurrent changes together with the Senior Network Engineer.

Technical skills:
* Cabling knowledge: copper and fiber technologies
* Knowledge of TCP/IP
* Knowledge of VOIP is a plus
* Network experience: firewalls, routers, and switches
* Experience with Microsoft Teams
* Knowledge of Server technology (Microsoft, Linux, Hyper-V...) is a plus
* Bachelor's degree in IT or CCNA
* Languages: able to communicate in Dutch, French, and English
