Siemens Smart Infrastructure is looking for a driven and enthusiastic Technical Sales & Project Engineer Smart Buildings for its Building Products team. You will play a crucial role in driving the adoption and implementation of cutting-edge technologies to optimize building operations and enhance sustainability. This position requires a deep understanding of both technical aspects and client needs within the realm of smart building solutions.

As Technical Sales & Project Engineer, your main responsibilities will be twofold. On the one hand, you’ll be driving business with our existent customers and you’ll investigate the market for new partnerships and customers. On the other hand, you’ll develop our partners, making sure the customers get in touch with the proper experts and the accurate people are available for implementing your proposed solutions.
Siemens will provide you with several trainings, making sure you’ll be up and running to take up the following responsibilities:
1. Technical Expertise : Developing a comprehensive understanding of smart building technologies, including IoT sensors, building management systems (BMS), energy management systems (EMS), HVAC controls, lighting controls, and integration platforms.
2. Solution Design : Collaborating with clients to assess their requirements, challenges, and objectives. Designing customized smart building offerings that leverage appropriate technologies to optimize building performance, engineering & energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and sustainability.
3. Relationship Management : Cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders, including end-customers, consultants, installers and integrators, to understand their business objectives and foster long-term partnerships. Acting as a trusted advisor, offering guidance, support, and ongoing technical assistance to enhance customer loyalty and drive repeat business.
4. Market Analysis : Conducting market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, market opportunities, and potential threats. Utilizing data-driven insights to develop sales strategies, pricing model and identify new business opportunities and enhance solution offerings.
5. Proposal Development : Preparing detailed proposals, including system designs, cost estimates, and implementation timelines. Clearly articulating the value proposition and benefits of proposed solutions to clients.
6. Technical Sales Support : Providing valuable technical expertise and support during client meetings, presentations, and negotiations. Addressing client inquiries, concerns, and technical challenges throughout the sales cycle.
7. Training and Education : Organizing training sessions, workshops, and seminars for external partners to enhance product knowledge, sales skills, and technical proficiency. Providing continuous learning opportunities to empower stakeholders with the tools and resources needed to succeed in their roles.
What can you bring to the table?
8. At least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
9. Previous sales experience is mandatory, preferably within the building automation/smart building world.
10. Strong technical aptitude and understanding of smart building technologies, including IoT, BMS, EMS, HVAC controls, hydronics, and integration protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus).
11. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
12. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment .
13. Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset.
14. Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support business development activities.
15. You’re fluent in Dutch with at least a professional level of English. Fluency in French will be mandatory over the course of time so willingness to improve this language (if needed) is mandatory.
