The SAP Data Governance Architect will lead our organization towards optimal data governance in SAP. This role involves collaborating on developing data models for all data objects in S/4HANA and defining procedures around data management and quality within the new ERP landscape transformation.
Main Responsibilities
* Developing data governance procedures for SAP data objects, aligning them with SNCB/NMBS' overall data governance organization and enabling the organization to leverage the fresh start of upcoming transformation projects.
* Contributing to the definition of SNCB's data governance framework by collaborating with the overall SNCB Data Governance Lead and Architects, incorporating the SAP Teams' perspective.
* Communicating SNCB's data governance framework to the SAP community and facilitating training and support initiatives.
* Gathering input from the SAP community, including Data Migration specialists and MDG team members, on data governance aspects (data definitions, business process management, data quality, and cleansing).
* Collaborating with the System Implementation Partner to ensure data governance and quality procedures are compatible and aligned with defined governance.
* Overseeing data management and quality for data objects not directly managed in MDG and working with the MDG team to maintain consistency and high data quality across SAP solutions.
* Defining KPIs for SAP data to measure the effectiveness of the implemented framework.
* Leading and advising SAP professionals on solving data issues, reporting data issues and resolutions to Domain Architects and Business Area Leads.
* Proposing improvements on data literacy and providing trainings as needed, implementing them with the help of the overall SNCB Data Governance Lead's team.
* Collaborating between SAP teams and non-SAP application data specialists to consume SAP data within the broader Data Governance framework and trust SAP-based data downstream.
* Maintaining data consistency across SAP and connected applications after the move to S/4HANA.
This role will contribute to making our S/4HANA transition successful. You'll help us start this journey with the best possible data and ensure we stay on track with objectives in focus for smooth go-lives.
Main Tasks
* Working with System Implementation and Run partners for data synchronization of SAP data to legacy applications and coordinating the operation of interfaces and data extractors with SAP teams.
* Preparing SAP Business Suite and connected systems (SuccessFactors, Ariba, FI-CA, CRM, etc.) for the move to the new ERP solution (S/4HANA with satellite solutions) by collaborating with Domain Architects, Business Area Leads, and technical and functional teams.
* Validating the plan of the System Implementation partner regarding data migration and synchronization strategies and reporting to program leadership.
Critical Requirements
* At least 8 years of relevant experience in SAP projects, data management, and data governance from SAP Business Suite to SAP S/4HANA and/or satellite solutions.
* At least 5 years of experience leading data management implementation in a SAP-solution environment.
* At least 5 years of experience migrating data from SAP Business Suite to SAP S/4HANA or satellite SAP-solutions.
* Knowledge of at least 4 of the following SAP solutions and their data model: S/4HANA (all modules), BTP, Ariba, Successfactors, Intelligent Business Planning, Intelligent Asset Management, Cloud-for-Customer, Customer Data Cloud.
* Experience using at least 3 project life cycles and at least 3 of the following tools: BRF, BRF+, LSMW, SAP MDG, SAP Migration Cockpit; knowing which tool to choose for each occasion.
* Understanding the SAP data model across a wide range of functionalities (financials, maintenance, supply chain, HR, customer service, procurement) and being an advocate for the SAP One Data Model.
* Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders (business, SI, technical, and functional staff).
* Proven experience working in both consolidated teams and parallel projects, including with 3rd party or offshore colleagues.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to summarize and present technical information to non-technical audiences.
* A can-do mentality, willing to roll up sleeves and address issues promptly, without blaming others.
* Good knowledge of English and Dutch/French, allowing discussions with senior management on data governance topics in their preferred language.
