Working as part of the Service team France and Belgium, the Local Service Manager is responsible for his area (150 to 250 WTGs) under contract and leading 3 Service Points located in Vinalmont, Gand, and Heretals. Preferable location is Vinalmont.
While ensuring a safe working environment and delivering services according to contract and customers’ expectations, the Local Service Manager is constantly staffing and developing his team members (approx. 30 persons) to look for efficiency and match the company profitability targets.
Key accountabilities
* Ensure the KPIs for the service business are monitored and understood within their teams.
* Manage site teams to ensure that they carry out their work effectively, safely, and to the required standard while reviewing performance.
* Responsible for budget, forecast, cost control, and stock levels.
* Manage customer relationships in his area, claims, and negotiations with the support of the account management team.
* Recruit and develop Service Technicians and lead technicians, including identification of training needs to maintain a high-performing team.
* Develop staffing plans for the area.
* Responsible for HSE in their respective service area, implementing internal and external regulations as required to ensure HSE compliance.
* Responsible for operational performance of their respective service area by ensuring best contractual availability of WTG.
* Use operational data to monitor team, individual, and farm performance, and act appropriately to share successes, address shortfalls, and make improvements.
* Ensure that quality standards are always met.
* Ensure a smooth handover from PM to Service after energization.
* Make business planning for new service points/activities in case of growth in the area or needed relocation due to business development.
* Oversee site safety auditing and reporting.
* Management of large operations (such as gearbox exchange) and improvement initiatives.
* Ensure the proper quality of reporting from his team: Maintenance, Availability reporting, HSE, timekeeping, and ensuring that reports are submitted on time.
* Provide exhaustive monthly reporting during the business review summarizing HSE, operation, and finance.
* Part of the local service management team for France and Belgium.
* The LOM received a delegation of authority from the Service Director.
* First contact point of the global service function to give feedback and status on the fleet in his area.
* Significant experience in the wind industry in a leadership role with P&L responsibility.
* Experience in working in matrix organizations.
* Experience managing remote field-based teams.
* Experience in the industrial maintenance sector.
Education and qualification
* Formal qualifications in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering (bachelor’s or master’s degree).
* Experience in maintenance, preferably in wind or a similar industry.
* Driving license.
* Excellent French, Dutch, and English language skills.
* Knowledge about country-specific laws and rules.
* Computer literate, able to use MS Office and in-house database and workload management systems (SAP).
