Job Description:
The SLI Engineer will be responsible for integrating, optimizing, and maintaining military systems, ensuring their seamless operation across platforms. The role will focus on logistics, maintenance, and operational readiness using industry standards like S1000D, S2000M, and S3000L for documentation, maintenance management, and lifecycle support. The engineer will work closely with different departments to ensure compliance with military specifications and security protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
1 - System Integration:
* Integrate complex military systems and equipment, ensuring efficient operation within broader logistical and operational frameworks.
* Perform system testing, validation, and integration in compliance with military standards such as S1000D for technical documentation, S2000M for maintenance management, and S3000L for logistics lifecycle management.
2 - Logistics & Maintenance Support:
* Oversee logistics of military systems, including parts management, software updates, and system repairs.
* Develop maintenance schedules and procedures based on S2000M and S3000L, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance throughout the system lifecycle.
* Utilize S2000M and S3000L methodologies for data management, spare parts tracking, and resource allocation.
3 - Documentation & Compliance:
* Use S1000D for creating structured, standardized technical manuals and operational documents for military systems and equipment.
* Ensure all documentation meets the standards for quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance, particularly in defense and aerospace sectors.
* Ensure compliance with military standards, industry protocols, and international standards (e.g., S1000D, S2000M, S3000L).
4 - Lifecycle Management:
* Implement best practices for system lifecycle management, utilizing S3000L for logistics support and S2000M for maintenance management.
* Coordinate the full lifecycle of military systems from installation to decommissioning, including logistics support and asset tracking using S3000L standards.
5 - Security & Access Management:
* Design and enforce security protocols for system integration, using secure communication tools, encryption, and authentication methods.
* Work closely with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with industry security guidelines and military protocols.
6 - Collaboration with Stakeholders:
* Work with military personnel, project managers, and engineers to understand and address system requirements.
* Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and integration of parts, managing the lifecycle using S3000L and S2000M standards.
* Interface with technical teams to ensure proper maintenance and documentation practices are followed in line with S1000D, S2000M, and S3000L.
7 - Troubleshooting and Support:
* Troubleshoot and resolve system integration issues while ensuring compliance with S1000D, S2000M, and S3000L protocols.
* Manage system malfunctions, documenting root causes and resolutions within the framework of military standards for technical and operational readiness.
Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or related fields).
* Certifications or knowledge in S1000D, S2000M, and S3000L would be an asset.
* EUROPEAN CITIZEN
Experience:
* Proven experience in system integration, logistics, or related fields, especially within the military or defense sector.
* Experience working with S1000D for technical documentation, S2000M for maintenance management, and S3000L for lifecycle logistics management.
* Familiarity with military systems, including communications, surveillance, avionics, or weapons systems.
Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in system engineering and integration methodologies, including S1000D, S2000M, and S3000L lifecycle and documentation standards.
* Knowledge of military logistics, maintenance management, and documentation, with hands-on experience in S1000D, S2000M, and S3000L.
* Experience with software tools used for managing and tracking the lifecycle of military systems, including maintenance and spare parts using S2000M and S3000L.
Soft Skills:
* Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
* Excellent communication skills for preparing reports, technical manuals, and collaboration across various teams.
* Attention to detail, especially when handling sensitive military technology and documentation.
Security Clearances:
* Ability to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances (e.g., Secret, Top Secret, etc.).
Desired Attributes:
* Strong understanding of military operations and integration procedures.
* Knowledge and practical experience using S1000D, S2000M, and S3000L for technical documentation, maintenance management, and lifecycle logistics.
* Familiarity with international standards and protocols, including NATO compliance and other military standards.
* Familiarity with emerging technologies in system integration, particularly in automation, AI, and cybersecurity for military systems.
Work Environment:
* The role may require travel to military bases or remote locations for system installations, maintenance, or testing.
