A career in our Financial Due Diligence practice, within our market leading Deals Transaction Services practice, will provide you the opportunity to help organisations realise the potential of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and capital markets. In short, we help some of the world’s leading companies originate, create, execute and realise value from deals. Coupled with our data-driven insights, we help our clients move in the right direction ensuring maximum value for their company.
Your impact
Our team assists organisations with both buy-side and sell-side due diligence. As part of our team, you’ll help us provide both corporate and financial buyers with peace of mind and key financial insights by analysing and validating all the financial, commercial, operational and strategic assumptions being made.
As an expert in the Transactions Services team, you’ll be leading and managing project teams on exciting financial due diligence projects across a wide range of industries. You will get exposure to high profile deals and be able to work together with a large network of clients, advisors and technical experts. You will get exposure to senior level management helping to bring key business insights, value drivers and deals issues to the table with support from senior team members.
Skills and responsibilities for this level include but are not limited to:
1. Manage project teams, work together with other specialists (strategy, operations, tax, legal, HR, IT) and be responsible for quality and timely completion.
2. Use a broad range of data analytics and excel tools and techniques to extract relevant business and value insights from financials.
3. Perform and review financial analysis, including analysis of key value drivers, historical/forecast trading, normalised earnings, working capital trends and net financial debt items.
4. Prepare and review high-quality financial due diligence reports in English.
5. Manage client relationships and lead client/advisor meetings.
6. Help to expand our transaction business through your network.
7. Support with the preparation and presentation of client proposals to win projects.
8. Focus on broader strategic issues facing clients before, during and after transactions.
9. Share thought leadership, develop new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problems.
10. Coach, train and supervise team members to help deliver results.
11. Review your work and that of others for quality, accuracy and relevance.
12. Use straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing others.
13. Ability to read situations and modify behaviour to build quality, diverse relationships.
About you
We are looking for a dynamic expert with 5-7 years of working experience. This position requires previous experience in an M&A or financial due diligence, possibly coupled with financial analysis/controlling, audit and/or accounting experience. Working experience in an advisory or audit environment is considered a plus.
In addition, you have the following qualifications and skills:
14. Masters degree in an M&A and/or finance related field.
15. Proficient in excel; experience with other data analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Alteryx) is considered a plus.
16. Strong numerical ability, financial analytical skills and understanding of accounting.
17. Excellent project management skills, including maintaining project economics.
18. Solid business writing and presentation skills with attention to quality and detail.
19. Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with clients, individuals, teams and lines of business.
20. Excellent listening and communication skills with the ability to persuade and influence.
21. Proactive and flexible with the ability to demonstrate initiative and reliability.
22. Able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
23. Strong commercial awareness and business development skills.
24. Fluent in English and Dutch or French.
