Position Summary
The multilateral forums and trade associations Strategy lead is a pivotal role responsible for developing and executing the company’s strategy in engaging with key global economic and health policy platforms (such as the G7, G20, OECD etc), shape a globally aligned strategy for BMS participation in regional/local trade associations and directly support BMS representatives in global trade associations like IFPMA.
This role requires a strategic senior leader with deep expertise in global policy, trade and economic development, who can drive the company’s policy priorities, build strong alliances with international stakeholders and manage relationships with global policy leaders at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic leadership in Multilateral Forums:
* Global engagement strategy: Develop and execute the company’s global strategy for engagement with multilateral forums (such as G7, G20, OECD etc) ensuring that the company’s perspectives are effectively represented and influence key global policy discussions.
* Policy Advocacy: Lead the company’s advocacy effort within these forums driving BMS’s global policy priorities - Shape the agenda, develop speaking platform, content generation, stakeholder mapping and engagement.
* Relationship management and influence: Implement BMS engagement strategy in global leadership platforms building relationships with key policymakers, diplomats and international leaders to advance the company’s strategic priorities and maximize BMS representation in key meetings and working groups.
* Thought Leadership and External Representation: Represent the company at international conferences, forums, working groups and policy discussions. Position the company as a leader in global health policy by contributing to thought leadership through articles, white papers, and public speaking engagements.
* External Communication: Effectively communicate the company’s policy positions and strategic goals to external audiences, ensuring that the company’s voice is influential in global policy debates.
* Work cross-functionally across CA unifying the effort to support BMS engagement strategy in Global forums.
* Working in partnership with the markets hosting the events to maximize BMS strategic engagement opportunities.
1. Strategic leadership in Trade Associations:
* Develop a globally aligned strategy within trade associations, strengthening BMS leadership and driving the company’s global policy priorities.
* Setting and tracking clear objectives to drive company’s global policy priorities and amplify BMS policy positions within trade associations.
* Support BMS representative in global trade associations such as IFPMA developing contents, positioning and briefings as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Advanced degree in international relations, public policy, law, public health, economics or a related field. An MBA is highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in global public policy, international relations, government affairs, or a related field, with significant experience in engaging with multilateral forums and trade associations.
Demonstrated success in influencing global health, trade and economic policies at the highest levels, particularly within the pharmaceutical or healthcare or highly regulated business sectors.
Proven ability to lead strategic advocacy initiatives and build strong alliances with international stakeholders.
Experience as a political strategist, working closely with executive and legislative bodies and agencies.

Diplomacy and negotiation: Strong diplomatic skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with high level international stakeholders and policymakers.

Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively across functions and build strong relationships within global, matrixed organization.
