Clinical Research Laboratory Technician

Pfizer Clinical Research Unit
The Pfizer Clinical Research Unit (PCRU) in Brussels (Anderlecht) is a state-of-the-art research facility with sixty inpatient beds dedicated to early clinical trials (Phase 1 & 2a studies). Working at the PCRU means that you will contribute to the development of medicines and vaccines that bring real benefit to patients. You will be an actor in the challenges that the world is facing, in full compliance with quality and safety standards. The PCRU is working closely with different departments at Pfizer and collaborates with other research units based in the USA.
Main responsibilities
1. Ensure the control of the laboratory environment, safety specification, the maintenance and calibration of laboratory material required to conduct clinical trials
2. Responsible to ensure quality throughout sample processes
3. Ensure proper lab samples handling
4. Manage pre analytical and analyse safety samples on a daily basis.
5. Support new lab innovation projects
6. Ensuring well management of the lab by maintaining the lab stock and participate in housekeeping audits
7. Prepare and follow up sample shipments
8. Maintain accuracy, accessibility, and confidentiality in volunteer/patient records
9. Ensure development of new procedures required by the protocol as “superuser” and train staff accordingly
About you
10. Education: Bachelor degree in medical or life science field or equivalency
11. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Laboratory experience
12. Shift schedule : available to work in various shifts (weekends/evenings/nights)
13. Computer Skills : Working knowledge of computers and ability to adapt rapidly and easily to clinical research data systems and associated issues/risks
14. Teamwork : ability to function as an effective team member in diverse workgroups to accomplish business objectives.
15. Languages : English with either French or Dutch
