Technical Project LEADER
Job description:
The technical project leader manages all the activities carried out by the engineering team allocated to a project (design, configuration, calculation, materials and processes, systems, tests, ...), during the product development phases and/or during the "In service" phase covering evolution of the product.
The technical project leader takes the overall technical leadership of the project.
Main activities:
üOrganize the project with the support of engineering centers of competence:
oCompile the project budget and Establish the WBS, OBS, CBS
oEstablish a project schedule in accordance with the development process.
oEstablish the necessary resources for the project.
oEstablish and maintain the project development plan.
üCoordinate the Engineering project team at SONACA or on an external site (customer, partner, subsidiary)
üOrganize and animate the technical reviews of the project internally and with the customer.
üEnsure the availability of the project deliverables and update the progress of the project according to QCD criteria and defined methodologies.
üReport to the head of projects and members of technical and program steering committees (Steerco).
üEstablish and maintain the list of risks, issues, and opportunities of the project, classify them, participate in their analysis and to the establishment of action plans.
üBe the main technical contact for the internal and external customer(s).
üEnsure that all requirements (customers, internal, technical, environmental, security, etc.) are considered, establish and monitor compliance verification matrix.
üNegotiate the technical aspects of the project and argue in support of the program (or account) manager, contractual modifications to obtain additional budget.
üEnsure the coordination and monitoring of engineering subcontractors.
Profile and Skills:
üRequired Education level: Master’s degree in mechanical / Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).
üMinimum 8 years of experience in project management (aerospace industry is an asset)
üAbility to lead, set objectives, plan, and supervise a project team.

oknowledge in technologies and materials (metallic and composite) used in aerospace industry.

üLanguage:
oGood level in English is mandatory (spoken & written)
oBasic level in French
üOthers:
oTraining in project management (i.e. PMI training) is a must
