Curious? Then read on As Legal Counsel for Belgium you will be working closely with the other legal counsels in Belgium and beyond to support the SD Worx business on a wide range of legal matters. You will report to our Director Legal Business Partners. Our legal team provides proactive and practical legal support and advises the business of the SD Worx group on a wide range of legal questions, with a focus on commercial law, contract law and IT law. You will also partner with internal and external stakeholders to help implement strategic projects across the group. This allows you to have an impact on the growing business of SD Worx. You will become part of a dynamic, multinational legal team. Our current corporate legal team works from Belgium (HQ), Germany, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Mauritius, United Kingdom and Ireland and consists of 22 legal counsels in different expert areas. Which key responsibilities will you have? Provide legal advice to the internal stakeholders of our Belgian business in a variety of legal matters (e.g. risk analysis, ad hoc question, supporting in projects, etc). Negotiating, drafting and reviewing a wide range of commercial agreements such as customer agreements, supplier agreements, general terms and conditions, etc. Give accurate, proactive and pragmatic legal advice in a timely and efficient manner. Provide legal support for the effective handling of claims and following up litigations with external experts/lawyers. Create and update legal templates and best practices in line with corporate guidelines. Following up on new Belgian legislation which can have an impact on our Belgian business. Contribute to the communication and implementation of the legal policies, templates, guidelines and processes and provide training to our internal stakeholders in this regard. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the legal department. What do you need for this role? A Masters degree in Belgian law. 1 3 years experience as an attorney and/or as an in house legal counsel with a focus on the following areas of law: Commercial law, Public law (knowledge of process around public tenders). Knowledge of social law (or the willingness to learn about it) is considered to be a plus. Effective communication skills in Dutch, French and English (orally and in writing). Business mind
