As a Software Architect at Equans in Genk, you’ll develop innovative digital solutions that optimize production and transport.
Do you want to shape the digital future? Then keep reading!
Together with our team of specialists, we are working on the digitalization of tomorrow. With 25 years of experience in smart logistics solutions for the industry, we are the go-to partner for companies looking to optimize their processes.
Our impact is significant. Did you know that the sugar in your coffee or soda likely reached you thanks to our solutions? Our LMS platform supports 45% of the European sugar market, from field to factory. Or take a sip of a Stella or Jupiler: our software guides the trucks that keep beer production running.
Are you ready to leave your mark on these innovative solutions as a Software Architect?
Your role as a Software Architect
As a Software Architect, you are responsible for:
* designing scalable and reusable components for software solutions tailored to our clients
* technically leading development teams and guiding implementations based on our LMS framework
* making strategic technology choices, such as C# .NET, ASP MVC, Blazor, WPF, and SQL, and selecting the right components and libraries
* ensuring code quality and sharing your expertise with the team
What does your day look like?
As a Software Architect, you set the direction for how our solutions are developed. Your day is a mix of strategic thinking and hands-on technical guidance. Here’s what that means:
* you start your day with a meeting with the development team, sharing insights and discussing technical challenges
* you analyze client needs and translate them into feasible technical solutions and architectural blueprints
* you evaluate and select technologies and tools that enhance the sustainability and scalability of our solutions
* you oversee implementations, ensuring that the developed software aligns with the agreed architecture
* you collaborate closely with clients, project managers, and developers to monitor progress and adjust when needed
* you guide the team through complex software and hardware integrations, such as badge readers, weighbridge indicators, PLC connections, and more
In short, you switch between a high-level vision and technical details to shape the digital future.
What you bring to the table
* a bachelor’s or master’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with proven experience in software development and architecture
* strong expertise in C#.NET and deep knowledge of .NET Core, ASP MVC, Blazor, SQL, and WPF – experience with hardware integrations and industrial automation is a plus
* an analytical mindset, capable of transforming complex challenges into concrete, feasible software solutions
* a proactive and solution-oriented approach – you take initiative rather than wait for direction
* strong communication skills and the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders
* a drive beyond the standard 9-to-5 mentality
* flexibility to work from our Genk office and visit client locations
* a structured way of working, preferably with experience in Agile or Scrum
* fluent in Dutch and English; knowledge of French and/or German is a bonus
