Become part of the Legal & Compliance team
The Legal & Compliance team is looking for a Regulatory Affairs Specialist with a strong background in technology, digital or financial regulation. As part of the Compliance & Regulatory Affairs team, you will take responsibility for identifying, tracking, assessing, and advising on these regulatory domains.
Acting as regulatory counsel you will build regulatory expertise, manage regulatory intelligence and leverage databases, assess and extract regulatory requirements from new regulations, advise and coordinate internal stakeholder groups with numerous other teams within Swift. In this role, you would be reporting to the global Head of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs.
Responsibilities
1. Identifying and tracking legislation and regulations in priority jurisdictions around the world, leveraging a variety of sources including law firms, consultancies, reg-tech tools, associations, events and newsletters.
2. Assessing regulation for impacts on Swift, and extracting applicable requirements
3. Advising compliance owners across the company and cooperating with the Public Affairs team on advocacy.
4. Acting as centre of expertise across several regulatory domains
5. Engaging proactively with internal and external stakeholders, and coordinating working groups.
6. Reporting on regulatory risk and compliance projects to management and other relevant stakeholders.
7. Contributing to Swift’s compliance culture and embedding governance, risk & control principles in daily activities.
8. Driving procedural, operational and technological improvements .
9. Performing as a true team player, ready to back each other up and support one another in a busy work environment.
10. Speaking up and sharing ideas to strengthen Swift’s Compliance & Regulatory Affairs.
11. Expanding knowledge of regulatory and industry trends through networking, external engagements and training, including conferences and events.
Skills and qualifications
12. University degree in law or other relevant advanced degree
13. Working experience in financial, digital or technology policy
14. Understanding of legislative procedures in the EU and other priority jurisdictions (including financial regulatory bodies)
15. Risk, compliance & control experience
16. Confident English language skills
17. Analytical skills, with the ability to distill legal requirements into impact and actions, and understand wider regulatory trends
18. Positivity, creative thinking, constructive attitude and an open mind
19. Good interpersonal communication skills, and a record of effective working relationship with stakeholders from different disciplines
20. Strong organizational skills to coordinate stakeholder groups
21. Ability to manage multiple priorities
