Position Overview: The Automation Engineer for the Olympus project is responsible for overseeing the engineering aspects of the project Olympus, aimed at updating the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Warehouse Control System (WCS) for the European Distribution Center (EDC) Courcelles facility. This role will involve developing a roadmap, cost estimate, plan to implement automation system, as well as upgrading equipment. The role will support the technological and system proposal development, potentially guiding the deployment through to operational stabilization upon project approval. Collaboration with project leaders on J&J interdependent initiatives is essential. Please note that this is a project funded position, and its duration will be extended contingent upon project approval. roles and responsibilities Develop business plans, project timelines, resource requirements, and budget plans for the Olympus project, ensuring alignment with MedTech goals and supporting cross functional projects. Provide direction and oversight for vendor partners in design, implementation, and operation of systems that integrate into existing company requirements and standard practices for software, hardware, safety, security, ISRM, and IT. Support global compliance strategies and provide solution guidance for addressing government compliance relative to WCS systems (FDA, SOX, other global authorities). Collaborate with cross functional teams to represent the engineering workstream in meeting project goals and objectives. Support the development of a clear proposal for WCS system update and functionality rebalancing, including resource required, implementation plan, interdependency, risks and mitigation actions.
