Your role: As the BU Head Oncology for Belgium and Luxembourg (BELUX), you will provide strong leadership including: excellent judgment with strong business acumen, the ability to drive outstanding sales performance and marketing excellence, engage with key thought leaders, work collaboratively and cross-functionally within the BELUX affiliate and our global teams, and deliver our targets for revenue growth and profitability. You’ll be a member of the BELUX Healthcare Leadership Team, driving our Biopharma business in Belgium and Luxembourg.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the BELUX Oncology organization by developing and implementing brand strategies that drive exceptional performance through understanding of patient, customer, and market needs, and leveraging brand insights to maximize business opportunities.
Full P&L Accountability of our Oncology brands, including operational budget and an active indirect role in pricing considerations.
Develop clear and fully aligned KPI measurement, and initiate actionable national and local level opportunity and risk analysis.
Develop and implement sales and marketing launch plans, business plans and strategies through a thorough understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscapes and future trends, the patient journey, and opportunity assessments. You will lead and develop the vision strategy and implementation plans, driving a fully aligned, result-oriented, highly effective field sales and marketing team. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams to design and execute market opportunity assessments, situational analyses, patient journeys, customer, and brand insights. Able to propose and/or to run:
1. Market research and insights for brand positioning and message development
2. Strategic forecast model and insights
3. Sales Force sizing & structure, targeting plan, alignment planning, and incentive plan design
4. Strategic Account Management and training for the sales force
5. Materials development including product messages with the ability to train the sales force when needed
Partner with global on LCM strategies, representing the BELUX affiliate, lead and develop the Oncology commercial team: define clear objectives, align on stretch goals, allocate resources, monitor activities, and provide coaching feedback and professional development opportunities. Manage the budget and interface with the Controller to control the Oncology budget in line with your P&L responsibility. You play an active and participatory role across therapeutic areas and functions as a member of the BELUX Leadership Team.
Who you are:
1. Degree in Life Science and/or Business Administration, MBA preferred
2. Healthcare professional by training would be a plus
3. Dutch & English highly appreciated, French would be an asset
4. Requires 10+ years of experience in marketing, sales, and operational leadership roles with increasing magnitude of responsibility in pharmaceutical/biotech industry
5. 3+ years leading teams and managing and developing people
6. Exceptional business acumen with demonstrated ability to learn and master complex business environments
7. Experience in Oncology is a must
8. Knowledge of the reimbursement landscape for specialty products a plus
9. Experience with products at multiple stages in their life cycle
10. Current understanding of pharmaceutical and promotional compliance guidelines and regulations
11. Previous pharmaceutical sales leadership experience a plus
12. Proven success record for building high-performance teams and consistently driving strong results
13. Strategic ability to define a clear path in a complex environment, utilizing strong analytical skills to navigate through complex challenges, overcoming areas of ambiguity and deliver well thought out business solutions to seize opportunities for business growth
