Role Description:
We are seeking a Steel Structure Supervisor to join our GO4ZERO project team on a consulting or freelance basis for a 12 to 24-month mission. Reporting directly to the Lead Civil & Structural Manager, this role is critical to overseeing the fabrication, installation, and quality assurance of steel structures within the Clinker Line project.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in steel construction, welding, and boiler-making (chaudronnerie), ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Clinker Line Construction Manager in supervising all steel structure works, from design to execution, ensuring compliance with project specifications and international codes.
* Oversee (management of suppliers) the fabrication, assembly, and erection of steel structures, ensuring proper alignment, welding quality, and structural integrity.
* Ensure compliance with welding procedures and oversee quality control related to structural steelwork, including inspections.
* Ensure that steelwork contractors meet technical and quality requirements.
* Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and local authorities to monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and maintain quality standards.
* Ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices in steel structure installation.
Requirements:
* Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in structural steelworks, preferably in industrial or large-scale construction projects.
* Strong knowledge of welding processes, steel fabrication, and assembly techniques.
* Familiarity with welding standards and quality control procedures.
* Fluent in French and English, with excellent communication and coordination skills.
* Ability to work on-site in Obourg for the duration of the project.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of structural analysis software ( is an asset.
