Senior Business Development Manager – NATO – Benelux regionThe Senior Business Development Managers role works to strengthen Lockheed Martin customer relationships and support development and delivery of Missiles and Fire Control (MFC)/OneLM strategy in the Benelux region. As part of the MFC International team, and reporting to the MFC International Director for Europe, the position supports the profitable growth of MFC and Lockheed Martin’s business in the Western European region. Additionally, position monitors and reports on European/NATO relevant topics that are critical to MFC Europe’s overall growth strategy.MFC is part of Lockheed Martin which is headquartered in Grand Prairie, Texas. MFC is a dynamic and agile team covering a wide breadth of business across the European region and the rest of the world. This post focuses on Belgium, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and selective other European countries based on need. The position will work closely and pro-actively with US MFC colleagues supporting MFC Business Area growth and pro-actively work to support OneLM business with GBD International Europe and other LM Business Areas as required.As Senior Business Development Manager, the role develops and manages Lockheed Martin MFC engagement, business development, strategy and coordination of relationships in the nominated countries and on the NATO level, representing the full breadth of Lockheed Martin to senior leaders, customers, partners and other key stakeholders. As regional manager, the role strengthens the Lockheed Martin image as one company and increase understanding and support for Lockheed Martin goals, business pursuits and objectives. The role requires experience in professional positions and the ability to represent the entire MFC portfolio of products and systems.The job requires excellent written, spoken and presentation English skills and to be fully mobile to travel as required. High ethical standards and the ability to work well in a multi-cultural team is key. A background in the defense industry, military or government is an advantage.Required skills, qualifications and experience:Polished communicator and relationship builder;A team player who can work well with international multi-cultural teams, committed to personal excellence, ethical behaviour and integrity;Knowledge and experience of successfully working and thriving in a fast paced environment;Ability to manage multiple lines of work concurrently;A high degree of flexibility and the availability to travel frequently in the region and occasionally elsewhere within Europe and to the US;Self-motivation/independence and the ability to operate in a virtual team with minimal guidance;Strong organizational skills and the flexibility to respond quickly to multiple requests from across the LOBs as well as OneLM cross-BA issuesExcellent knowledge and understanding of Government, political and military decision processes and requirements.Responsibilities:Represent Lockheed Martin with key national Government, political, industrial and military stakeholders and develop and maintain positive and appropriate relationships with them in coordination with the Business Areas;Support MFC Lines of Business (LOB) identifying new opportunities as well supporting current and keep-sold programs;Develop and understand NATO capabilities requirements and national procurement environment in the region, and identify business opportunities;Provide political, military and economic situational reporting to MFC leadership;Support the implementation of MFC/OneLM strategies in the region and on the NATO levelSupport MFC’s participation in the NATO industrial Advisory Group (NIAG) with the objective of developing industrial relationships and identify strategic partnerships;Plan and coordinate events and activities to support MFC’s business development and government relations goals;Work with Embassy country teams and other defense organizations in the region and NATO National Delegations to support MFC/OneLM objectives;Position LM as one company through events, seminars, sponsorships and donations.Desirable Skills:Seasoned professional with demonstrated experience and success in aerospace, defense or government working environment;Relevant professional experience working in NATO and the European regionA team player who can work well with internal support groups;Strong ability to recognize and understand client structures and processes in order to successfully manage/ influence/ communicate.
