Purpose of the position
The Director C&I Solutions is responsible for the development of SMAs Commercial and Industrial business within the designated markets. He or she is managing, developing and maintaining positive key business partnerships and stakeholder relationships in the different markets, in line with segment market priorities.
The scope of responsibility in this position includes the C&I solar, storage and EV charging portfolio (Hardware, Software, Services) with current and future business models
Key responsibilities
1. Manages sales, revenue generation, business and partner development of the Commercial & Industrial segment within the designated markets in the region, in strong interaction with the global C&I business responsible and the regional management team.
2. Ensures collection and analysis of regional market data to derive requirements and strategic implications for the segment development in the region
3. Designs and implements regional strategic segment plans and initiatives along the global C&I segment strategy and positioning as a complete solution provider to achieve the agreed business targets
4. Manages financial performance, KPIs and Forecast (accuracy) for the designated markets
5. Develops a thorough understanding of the different direct and indirect existing and potential customer groups including targeted C&I end customer verticals
6. Steers the successful placement of the C&I solution portfolio through existing and new sales channels and multiplicators (multi-channel approach)
7. Develops long lasting industry relationships by interacting and communicating with key customers, stakeholders and partners on a regular basis
8. Develops and implements a mindset of customer centricity and end-2-end perspective within the team and leads staff to improve customer experience and achieve local segment targets.
9. Collaborates with Marketing and Sales Enablement in terms of messaging to local markets, value selling and consistent use of sales tools (e.g. SalesForce)

Qualifications & Requirements
11. Requires tertiary qualifications (Business or Engineering) with a keen affinity for technical products
12. 7 years of experience in sales or business development and sound knowledge of the Renewable Energy Industry
13. Experience developing and managing in an industrial company within a matrix function, preferably in a multifunctional environment within the renewable energy sector or similar industries.
14. Experience in initiating, negotiating and closing contracts and managing successful relationships with customers as well as business partners
15. Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills as well as emotional intelligence and demonstrated ability to motivate, build trust, gain support, and instill accountability in line with SMA’values and leadership principles, including with external partners.
16. Excellent communication skills as well as intercultural competence
17. Highly customer and success-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
18. Strong entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to roll up his or her sleeves and act with a problem-solving mindset.
19. High willingness to travel internationally.
20. Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, is required. Italian, French, Spanish are a plus.
