Last Mile Manager
As a Last Mile Manager, you are responsible for creating and managing the best possible last mile distribution network across Belux. You are in charge of designing and implementing new processes contributing to the highest level of performance, and guiding subcontractors to reach target levels set. Negotiating rates, reviewing performance and installing corrective measures are essential elements for reaching Colis Privé’s ambition. In this position you report directly to the Last Mile Director. Together with the Last Mile Managers, the Last Mile Supervisor and the coordinators, you form the Last Mile team at our sorting hub located in Willebroek.
Responsabilities
* Manage Delivery Partners / Subcontractors in the broadest sense: recruitment and selection, control of compliance with laws & regulations, negotiations, training & coaching, on-site auditing, etc.;
* Proactively identify risks and intervene where needed to maintain KPIs and targets set at all three levels (strategic, tactical, operational), which are related to quality, productivity, safety, cost, etc.;
* Support the Last Mile Director by owning and managing multiple ambitious projects simultaneously related to expanding the network, introducing new offerings, defining & realizing green ambitions, and so much more;
* Guide and coach Transport Coordinators in daily follow-up and analyses to be done in collaboration with the Transport Supervisor;
* Be a point of contact for transport related questions to all other stakeholders within the organization (Customer Service, Warehouse, Finance, etc.) and an escalation point to troubleshoot transport related issues;
* Strive to exceed customer expectations while balancing service levels and cost elements.
Education/Experience
* You obtained a bachelor or master degree, preferably in logistics or economics;
* At least 5 years of relevant working experience in a similar position;
* Proven experience in last mile transportation and subcontractor management.
Skills
* Be proactive and have a strong problem-solving mindset;
* Have strong communication skills and be fluent in Dutch and French (written/spoken);
* Be capable to independently own operational- and tactical projects;
* Be analytical and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (MS Excel);
* Be a team player and have the drive to continuously push the team forward.
