Job Description
As a Key Account Manager, you will focus on a select number of identified key/strategic clients and work to embed and grow business opportunity from a global SGS Clinical Research perspective. You will act as the point of contact between the client and the SGS Clinical Research Organization.
Your key responsibilities are:
1. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, serving as their primary point of contact for all business-related matters.
2. Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve sales targets, foster account growth, and identify new business opportunities.
3. Conduct regular business reviews with clients to assess their needs, address concerns, and provide solutions that meet their objectives.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of services and exceptional customer experience.
5. Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing clients to maximize revenue generation.
6. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to proactively identify potential threats and opportunities.
7. Prepare and present reports on account performance, sales forecasts, and market insights to internal stakeholders.
8. Manage contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing discussions in collaboration with the SGS business development & support team
9. Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver timely solutions.
10. Work collaboratively with SGS colleagues across the organization to ensure they are engaged and aligned to the account strategy and support new business opportunities within clients.
Qualifications
11. Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration and/or life sciences
12. Proven experience in sales, key account management, or relevant customer relationship management roles.
13. Knowledgeable in the drug development process preferably gained within a CRO
14. Fluent in English – written and oral
15. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and CRM software
16. Strong business acumen and financial understanding.
17. Ability to travel to meet clients as needed.
18. You have experience within the fields of Clinical Research and CRO business, or any other associated, relevant business.
19. You have a proven track record in Key Account Management and display an attitude that is key to success.
20. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients, understand their needs, and build long-term relationships.
21. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify client challenges, propose innovative solutions, and drive business growth.
22. Strong negotiation and influencing skills to navigate complex client relationships and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
23. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, extract insights, and make data-driven decisions.
24. Exceptional organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
