Job Purpose:
As a Credit Analyst Officer, your role entails: Support the Head of Credit Risk with the management and overview of the end-to-end credit processes of Byblos Bank Europe and the branches in London and Paris (“BBE”) from a second line credit risk perspective, in line with credit policies, relevant regulatory requirements and guidance and instructions from the BBE Board and Senior Management.
Job Description:
* Credit Risk Management
* Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess the creditworthiness of borrowers
* Assess the financial strength of borrowers and guarantors
* Assess the risk associated with extending credit and make recommendations for credit approvals or rejections.
* Prepare detailed credit reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
* Monitor and manage the credit exposure of existing borrowers (sectors, geographies...) by reviewing financial statements and conducting periodic risk assessments.
* Stay updated on industry trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes that may impact credit risk.
* Collaborate with other departments, particularly the relationship managers, to gather and analyse necessary information for credit evaluations.
* Develop and maintain relationships with relationship managers, ensuring clear communication and understanding of credit terms and conditions.
* Assist in the development and implementation of credit policies, procedures, and risk assessment models to improve overall credit management.
* Ensure efficient management of credit files including nonperforming files through monitoring of utilization within approved limits, review and follow-up of collaterals, monitoring of commitments and settlement of excesses and/or unpaid.
* Ensure the implementation of the recommendations issued in their reports by the Local Credit Committee as well as the Central Credit Committee of the parent company, the internal audit, the external audit, the "Credit Review" of the parent company and the NBB in accordance with the credit policy and procedures.
* Follow up on the correct settlement of loans and facilities as per deadlines
* Process and recommend requests for authorization of excess over the limits as established in the procedures
* Ensure the proper maintenance of credit files in terms of documentation and filing, as well as the retention and archiving of reports produced or received.
* Assist the Head of Credit or his deputy in the preparation - drafting of monitoring reports.
* Participate in client meetings whenever appropriate
* Assist with the monitoring of the timely review of individual and group credit exposures
* Second line monitoring and reporting of the excess credit exposures
* Ensure that credit exposures are properly rated / classified and quarterly AQR are presented
* Support the quarterly Asset Quality Review
* Support the decision-making process for provisions
* Raising the awareness for the management of credit risk
* Representing the Risk Department in internal or external working parties, project groups, etc
* Participate in initiatives for the further development and implementation of methodologies for management (identification, measurement, mitigation, monitoring and reporting) of credit risk across BBE
* Assist with the maintenance and enhancement of the credit processes and technology solutions
* Local Credit Committee
* Facilitate the working of the Local Credit Committee when requested (secretarial role)
* Reporting
* Support the timely delivery of adequate credit risk reports (regular and "ad hoc") to the relevant Credit Committee, Senior Management and to the Board, supported by proper analysis and recommendations
* Support the development / enhancement of the credit reporting & monitoring framework in line with the requirements and expectations of various external & internal stakeholders
Job Requirements:
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, Business Administration, Banking, or related field.
* 1 to 3 years of banking experience in the field of credit / risk monitoring an advantage.
* Analytical mind and ability to communicate easily.
* Proficiency in both French and English.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work effectively within a team.
