As part of the establishment of a dedicated team for the development of new high-pressure alkaline electrolysis products, the John Cockerill Group is seeking a Product Platform Chief Engineer to join the energy sector. This position focuses on overseeing the full lifecycle of electrolyzer products, from defining technical requirements to developing solutions for installed systems.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Technical Platform Lead, you will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of product development and lifecycle management, ensuring compliance with project objectives, timelines, and budgets:
Technical Design and Architecture
1. Define requirements for technical solutions and ensure product designs meet these requirements.
2. Execute and oversee the technical architecture, managing both product and system-level architecture.
3. Coordinate and manage interfaces between subsystems and ensure seamless integration across all systems.
System Integration and Validation
1. Drive technical system integration, ensuring all technical deliverables are fully aligned and integrated.
2. Plan and execute design verification, product validation activities, and associated tests to ensure reliability and compliance.
3. Deliver required documentation to achieve regulatory and HSE compliance.
Project Compliance and Reporting
1. Ensure that the complete technical solution adheres to the project plan, budget, and timeline.
2. Provide regular technical status updates on the overall solution to stakeholders.
3. Approve all technical solutions and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Risk Management and Continuous Improvement
1. Identify, establish, and maintain mitigating action plans for risks throughout the product lifecycle.
2. Propose innovative technical solutions to improve product performance and reduce costs while maintaining quality.
You will collaborate with a diverse, agile, and multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and product specialists. Reporting to the CTO, you will work closely with leaders across the organization to drive product excellence and innovation.
Experience, Knowledge, and Hard Skills:
1. Master’s degree or equivalent in mechanical, chemical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in product development or project management, preferably in the energy or hydrogen sector.
3. Strong technical capabilities, preferably in Hydrogen.
4. Strong knowledge of product lifecycle management and co-engineering methodologies.
5. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
6. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French or other languages is an asset.
