Job Description
We are seeking an experienced purchasing and supply chain manager to handle our company's procurement activities.
The purchasing manager's responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies and policies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers.
Coordinating with internal teams (regular sales, project sales and product development and selection team) regarding their supply needs.
Overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities.
To be successful as a purchasing manager you should be able to manage and optimize purchasing activities and supply processes with global suppliers and have knowledge of shipping policies and optimization, both inbound and outbound.
Knowledge of packaging and management of packaging
Target is shortening lead times improving stock rotation, managing SKU’s.
An outstanding purchasing manager should have excellent leadership abilities and be able to negotiate the best possible deals with suppliers.
Here is a list of the job requirements:
1. Developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
2. Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.
3. Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
4. Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
5. Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.
6. Managing the maintenance of office/manufacturing equipment and machinery.
7. Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications, define the standards required if absent.
8. Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.
9. Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.
10. Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.
Qualifications
11. Degree in business administration or a related field.
12. You are an expert in MERCHANDISING in the furniture and decoration sector as a whole
13. Experience as a purchasing and supply chain manager or in a similar position.
14. Determine the quantities required for each type of item (to avoid ending up with too many unsold items).
15. Knowledge of market prices: to establish competitive prices in relation to the product and the market as a whole.
16. Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
17. Supervisory and management experience.
18. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
19. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
20. Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
21. Strong planning and organizational skills.
22. Ability to work independently
23. Fluency in Dutch French and English.
