Job Title: Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Rare Diseases
Location: Belgium, Netherlands & Luxembourg (Benelux)

About the Role:
You will join a small team in Benelux, and be part of a larger pharmaceutical company beyond this. This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of the therapy area, acting as the scientific and strategic expert while engaging in a more varied role than a conventional MSL.
In addition to traditional MSL responsibilities, you will also be actively involved in market access, research, and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) evaluations, making a real impact on patient access to innovative treatments. This is a high-responsibility role, perfect for someone eager to drive scientific exchange and shape the future of rare disease treatment in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the lead medical expert for the rare disease therapy area in Benelux.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), patient advocacy groups, and other stakeholders.
* Provide scientific and clinical expertise to internal and external stakeholders.
* Support market access efforts, including the preparation of value dossiers and HTA submissions.
* Engage in real-world evidence (RWE) research and contribute to post-marketing studies.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, regulatory, and market access teams to support the strategic goals of the company.
* Deliver high-quality scientific presentations and training sessions to both internal teams and external partners.
* Stay up to date with the latest developments in rare diseases and provide insights to shape medical strategy.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in life sciences (BSc, MSc, PhD, PharmD or MD)
* Proven experience in a medical affairs role, preferably within specialty medicine.
* Excellent ability to translate complex scientific information into meaningful insights for diverse audiences.
* Experience working with KOLs, patient advocacy groups, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects with a proactive mindset.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Fluency in English and Dutch (fluency in French is a plus)
* Willingness to travel across the Benelux region.
