The Faculty of Medicine - Hematology Department - is recruiting:
EU Scientific Project Manager – Education for Health Professionals - Telemedicine
(1 year, renewable as the project will last until September 2027)
Context:
* The Brussels Clinic University Erasme Hospital-ULB is highly specialized in rare haematological disorders (RHD) on a regional, national, and international level. In 2017, it was awarded as an European Reference Network (ERN) coordinator of the ERN-EuroBloodNet on rare Haematological diseases. ERNs are networks involving healthcare providers across Europe and have been launched and are supported by the European Commission. They aim to tackle complex or rare diseases and conditions that require highly specialized treatments and concentrated knowledge and resources: European Commission ERN.
* The ERN-EuroBloodNet (www.eurobloodnet.eu), dedicated to haematological disorders, currently consists of a network of 90 healthcare providers from 18 Member States, with important interactions with patient groups covering those conditions. The ERN project co-leader, Pr Gulbis, is also the representative of the reference centre, the Hôpital Universitaire de Bruxelles and the Brussels University Laboratory (LHUB-ULB), of the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium. The rest of the coordination team is based in Hospital Saint Louis (Paris, France), and in the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (Barcelona, Spain).
* The ERN-EuroBloodNet is developing a strategic plan (Strategic Plan) and one of the actions is to develop education tools and training courses for health professionals inter-professional consultation by sharing of expertise on difficult cases (telemedicine).
Missions:
1. Coordination and Development of Educational Activities and Managing the Virtual Clinic Platform for Health Professionals:
o Support the development of the ERN-EuroBloodNet e-learning platform: you will be in charge of the daily management of the platform: add contents, ensure the smooth running of the platform, coordinating educational programs with experts in the field. Management of webinars and creation of new educational contents: you will coordinate the webinars programs for health professionals, developing them in collaboration with ERN-EuroBloodNet members, inviting speakers, moderating the webinars, recording and performing basic video editing for the publication of the sessions. Management of the organization of on-site training programmes (Preceptorships) for health professionals and provide the accreditation to trainees.
o Management of the smooth medical running and will coordinate the dispatching of the clinical cases to the ad-hoc panels of experts through Europe. They will be in charge of checking the panel, delivery of recommendations and the overall process, identify potential ethical and legal medical issues and anticipate potential bottlenecks in the provision of advice of the clinical cases shared through the platform, lead the platform helpdesk dedicated to ERN-EuroBloodNet members, report regularly on the process for continuous assessment.
o You will be in charge of the management and the development of expert groups: follow-up of actions developed in the field of telemedicine, contribution to the network animation and development of virtual boards of experts, experts groups. Keep track on the evolution of the platform.
2. Managing Projects:
o In collaboration with the project manager of the ERN, the scientific manager will ensure the respect of the projects’ deadlines and milestones. They will anticipate the risks and contribute to the definition of the work plan from a scientific point of view. They will identify potential ethical and/or legal medical issues in the different projects.
3. Promoting and Representing:
o They will participate in the bi-annual progress meetings of the ERN, and represent the ERN in other European scientific events of interest (online or on-site). In collaboration with the dissemination manager, they will ensure the promotion of the results of the projects.
4. Providing Administrative & Financial Support:
o Assist the Brussels coordination team with administrative and budgetary tasks related to the tasks.
Profile:
* Hold a Master degree in Human Sciences recognized by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
* Candidates holding a diploma not issued by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation or the Flemish Community must obtain an equivalence from the FWB: Equivalence Information.
All previous experience in the field will be taken into account.
General Knowledge and Skills:
* Experience in project management, IT tools, and especially in medical and European projects is appreciated.
Specific Knowledge and Skills:
* English Proficiency is required (min. C1 spoken and written).
