The Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) Council is a global non-profit organization with founding members and a Board made up of executives and business leaders from leading energy companies, technology providers, investors and end-users. The LDES Council advances the decarbonisation of our world through the acceleration of long duration energy storage by providing member-driven, fact-based guidance and research on the deployment of long-duration energy storage for society's benefit.
Launched on November 4, 2021 at COP26, the LDES Council is rapidly growing and has established itself as a catalyst in driving global dialogues on long duration storage by providing fact-based guidance and information drawn from members’ expertise.
We are seeking a creative and strategic Communications Manager to join our team and support our rapid growth. This position will manage and coordinate all communications activities across the organization, including overseeing external vendors. This position reports to the Chief of Staff.
Essential Functions
The essential job functions for this position include, but are not limited to:
· Strategic Planning: Partner with the leadership team in the development and execution of a strategic communications plan that aligns with business objectives.
· Content Development: Lead the development of excellent communications content, including presentations, talking points, marketing and promotional materials, videos, social media posts, blogs, and op-eds.
· Brand Management: Ensure consistent messaging and visual identity across all platforms. Work closely with internal teams to drive brand awareness and contribute to broader marketing campaigns.
· Digital Media: Design and implement digital communication strategies that effectively engage target audiences. Manage and/or oversee organisational communications channels, including website, social media and CRM, ensuring timely and relevant content that fosters engagement and growth.
· Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and report on the performance of digital communications and social media campaigns and posts, utilizing analytics tools to gather insights and make recommendations for improvement. Stay up to date on the latest trends and best practices.
· External Relations & Media Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with media, industry partners and other key stakeholders. Lead media outreach efforts, including drafting press releases and managing relationships with journalists.

Qualifications
Required skills and abilities to effectively perform this position include, but are not limited to:
· Minimum of five years of experience in communications, with at least three years in digital communications (content development, social media and website management).
· Proficiency in SEO optimization, market segmentation and audience targeting.
· Familiarity with online marketing strategies and CRM platforms (HubSpot experience is a plus).
· Exceptional writing, editing (photo/video/web/text) and communication skills.
· Creative ability to produce innovative and compelling content.
· Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, global environment.
Preferred qualifications
· Energy industry communications experience.
· Experience with media relations, including drafting press releases and cultivating relationships with journalists and influencers.
· Experience working in or with a membership organization or trade association.

Location
This position is remote and may be located anywhere candidates are legally authorized to work. Candidates must be able to work Western Europe and/or U.S. hours.
Salary
The salary range for this position in the U.S. is $70,000-$85,000 annually, based on experience and other factors. Global salary is competitive by region.
