Team/division description
The Governmental affairs (GA) team is part of the Corporate Affairs and Sustainability function. It consists of three teams: European GA, Technical GA, and Pan-European GA.
The internship position will report to the Pan-European GA manager.
This division acts as a key point of contact between the Headquarter in Brussels and the Toyota entities in Europe on topics ranging from Sustainability, Circularity or Zero emission transport. It oversees political and regulatory movements in Europe, national engagement with key stakeholders and timely captures any raising trends.
It secures a smooth advocacy coordination of Toyota’s position at european and national member state level, in order to positively contribute to the regulatory process. The team is also offering targeted support to national Toyota entities in their local engagement and company representation activities.
The aim of the division is to strengthen the European capability to achieve Toyota‘s European business objectives.
Your project
1. Your main project will be to:
Act as an ‘antenna’ and support tracking any political and regulatory movements in key European member states with important Toyota presence.Build relation with Governmental affairs teams at national level. Bring them up to speed about new regulation proposals and support in activating local engagement. Support national Toyota entities in their inquiries on data, external Toyota representation or events.Coordinate monthly reporting process to top management in Europe and Japan.Develop narratives and presentation materials for use at internal or external events to promote Toyota’s position.Organise the bi-yearly Pan-European Governmental Affairs meeting.

Your Profile
2. Academic background in political science, International relations, EU Public affairs or equivalent.
3. Good knowledge of the EU, its institutions and policy making processes.
4. Affinity to the automotive industry.
5. Advanced communication skills, being able to liase with all levels of the organisation.
6. Strong planning capabilities and a structured way of working.
7. Proactive person and teamplayer, who enjoys working in an international environment.
8. Fluent spoken and written English; any other European language is an asset.
9. Advances PowerPoint skills.
