Job Title: Digital Design Engineer
Duration: until end date of December 2025
Location: Leuven, Belgium
Remote/onsite: Hybrid working (40% remote, 60% or more onsite)
Our client in Leuven is looking for a Digital Design Engineer for an urgent project until the end of December 2025 (extensions are possible).
Responsibilities
1. As a digital designer
1. Own the block from design specification to production, including support of the verification and validation teams to ensure that performance is met.
2. Minimize silicon area while reaching performance and power targets.
3. Interface to physical design, analog and firmware teams to provide support and guidance on the use of the digital block.
2. As a verification engineer
1. Own the verification of a block, some subsystem part or some top level functions.
2. Detail the verification specification of the assigned testcases.
3. Implement the testcases using System Verilog, UVM, python, assertions, …
4. Maximize the verification coverage of the design while focusing on execution time.
5. Maintain the regression suite.
3. Execute to meet challenging schedule while ensuring high quality.
4. Participate actively in peer reviews.
5. Interface with architects during design reviews, root-cause analysis and correction of issues.
6. Work within a design and/or verification team, and interact with other teams on the project (Analog, Firmware, Layout) to ensure the success of the overall product.
Profile
1. Minimum of 5 years experience in the design and/or verification of digital blocks and IC’s.
2. Knowledge of low power design techniques.
3. Knowledge of audio processing and/or accelerators for artificial intelligence is a plus.
4. Proven track record in delivering working silicon for high volume products.
5. Demonstrate an innovative and creative attitude, taking initiative to propose and implement improvements.
6. Rigorous and methodical with good analytical skills for debugging issues in design and on silicon.
7. Familiarity with Cadence EDA simulation tools and Synopsys Spyglass.
8. Expert in VHDL, Verilog and/or System Verilog. Knowledge and experience of python programming language is an asset.
9. You are a team player with excellent communication skills adapted to an international environment.
10. You possess hands-on practical skills combined with electrical knowledge.
11. You are fluent in English.
