We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead an operational team responsible for digital water meter systems and IoT-enabled water infrastructure. This role combines people leadership, service management, and technical oversight to ensure seamless operations across three water utilities. The ideal candidate will have a background in shared service centers, IoT device management, and operational excellence in utilities or related sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and mentor a team of 8–12 operational staff, fostering collaboration and high performance.
* Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and skill development plans.
* Resolve escalations and ensure adherence to KPIs.
* Design and implement Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for water meter operations.
* Streamline workflows between field teams, data analysts, and external partners.
* Oversee a shared service center model to support multiple water utilities.
* Act as SME for IoT-enabled water meters (installation, data collection, troubleshooting).
* Collaborate with IT/OT teams to integrate meter data with central systems.
* Drive continuous improvement in asset management and predictive maintenance.
* Liaise with utility partners, contractors, and technology providers.
* Report to senior leadership on operational metrics and cost efficiency.
Ideal Profile
* 5+ years in operational team management (utilities, IoT, or field services preferred).
* Proven experience setting up SLAs and shared service centers.
* Technical familiarity with IoT devices (water meters, sensors, SCADA systems).
* Fluent Dutch & English, other languages are a bonus
* Strong process improvement mindset (Lean, Agile, or ITIL foundations).
Nice-to-Have:
* Project management background (PMP, PRINCE2).
* Knowledge of water sector regulations and asset management.
* Experience with data-driven decision tools (e.g., Power BI, GIS).
